

UFO Days Royalty Program Rules
UFO Days Royalty Eligibility
*Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen, an Elmwood, Plum City or Spring Valley High School student or home schooled in one of the mentioned districts. They must reside with their parents or legal guardians during their reign.
*Candidates must be 10-17 years of age by their coronation ceremony and remain in school or graduate during their reign.
*Candidates cannot have previously held a Miss Elmwood title - but may have held a Junior Title.
*Candidates must not be married before or during their reign. They must not have children nor be pregnant. Any title holder or court member who becomes pregnant during her reign will relinquish all rights and privileges of their title.
*All candidates will receive a copy of these rules to review with their application. To be considered eligible you must be willing to agree to these rules, submit a completed application.
*Candidates must remain in good educational standing throughout their reign. They must maintain a minimum C (2.00) grade average and uphold the behavioral standards set forth by the high school.
*Candidates must secure a local business as a sponsor. Each sponsor will pay a $100 sponsorship fee. The fee is used by the committee for pageant expenses. In return the sponsors receive advertising until the UFO weekend via website, social media and printed UFO Days promotions. The winning candidates will have their sponsors advertised on the float for each parade attended. Fees can be paid in cash or checks should be made out to the Elmwood Area Community Club.
*Pageant rehearsals are limited to the committee members, Candidates, performers, and those enlisted by the committee for assistance.
*Candidates are not allowed to have outside contact with any judges other than pageant activities.
UFO Days Royalty Duties
*Royalty members are responsible for being on time to events, coordinating with their group, staying with the group, and leaving together. Unauthorized guests are not allowed. Any deviations need to be discussed with the Royalty Coordinator and parents/guardians that are chaperoning that event and approved to maintain safety.
*All events require an approved adult chaperone.
*If royalty cannot fulfill their duties, violates the code of conduct, or eligibility rules set forth by the community club and pageant committee it is grounds for disqualification, removal from competing or court, and revocation of scholarship. If removed from court, you must return your crown and sash.
*Royalty is required to participate through the UFO Days of their departing year or they forfeit their scholarship. Royalty serves one year, from the UFO Days they are crowned through the following UFO Days.
*The royalty committee and the community club have the authority to make provisions and waive eligibility, rules, or regulations. All Candidates, royalty, and family members of candidates & royalty are able to contact royalty coordinators with questions or concerns about any of the activities the UFO Days royalty program encompasses. The royalty coordinators will review and take action when appropriate about information brought to them.
*The UFO Days Queen will be responsible for writing a Queen’s report the first of each month. The queen’s report will be published on the EACC website and social media platforms.
UFO Days Royalty Awards & Coronation Ceremony
*Queen (King): $1000
*Princesses (Princes): $500 (2)
Scholarships will be paid upon completion of the first semester, or equivalent of higher education (college, trade school, training program etc.) with all passing grades. A copy of the transcript must be provided to receive payment. If scholarships have not been collected within 2 years of high school graduation they will be forfeited.
*The Community Club will crown three royalty members. In the event there are only 4 Candidates, all four will be royalty for that year and the royalty will fundraise for the fourth scholarship.
*Royalty will receive a sash, a crown, and other gifts as determined by the committee.
*The royalty committee plans all the activities of the ceremony. It is approximately 1.5 hours long and held on Sunday of UFO Days.
*Candidates will invite their sponsors to the ceremony.
Events & Activities
*The UFO Days Parade is required for both candidates and royalty. For royalty, there will be a minimum of 6 parades (in addition to UFO Days parade and 3 community events required. Royalty can attend other events such as benefits for local residents. Additional event participation is subject to the royalty committee’s approval.
*A decorated float is provided by the community club for royalty to ride on in parades.
*Candidates/Court Members are required to provide their own attire, which should be modest and age appropriate as a representative of the community. Dresses/attire will be clean, neat, and appropriate for the occasion. Court members can choose whether they would like to have identical or coordinating their attire for events. Not all events require formal wear, but should be coordinating, weather, and event appropriate.
*Royalty will receive all information regarding time, place of events, and parades in neighboring communities.
*Court members are required to set up and tear down the float before and after parades.
*The community club will provide buttons for exchange with other royalty.
*Any monetary awards won by royalty and/or the float will go directly to the Elmwood Area Community Club.
Queens Tea
*The royalty committee sends invitations to the neighboring royalty to invite them to participate in Queen’s Tea held before the UFO Days Parade on Sunday at noon of UFO Days.
*The existing royalty prepares a light luncheon, any activities for the tea, and setup up/tear down.
*A budget will be determined by the royalty committee for this event.
*Both royalty and candidates will greet guests, offer buttons, and socialize. This is a required event.
Code of Conduct
*Court members must treat other royalty and participants at all events with kindness and respect.
*Candidates/court members must conduct themselves with a high level of self-respect, good manners, and moral standards. They should also treat each other with kindness and respect.
*Candidates and court members serve as representatives of the Elmwood community and Royalty Program. While participating in the program, they are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the organization. Public social media content depicting illegal activity, harassment, bullying, discriminatory conduct, explicit sexual content, or behavior that substantially harms the reputation of the program may be reviewed by the Royalty Committee and may result in disciplinary action, including removal from the program.
*Candidates/court members are not to drink alcohol, use drugs, smoke, use foul language, or cause harm to anyone during their candidacy or during their reign. If these types of behaviors are reported to the community club it could result in forfeiture of title, sash, crown, and scholarship.
